TERMS AND CONDITIONS
of Car Rental – Carrus d.o.o. Mostar
Vehicle Rental Requirements
- You must be at least 21 years old to rent a vehicle.
- You must have held a valid driver’s license for at least 2 years for the category of vehicle you are renting.
- To sign the rental agreement, a valid form of identification (ID card or passport) is required.
- The minimum rental period is 24 hours.
- A delay of more than 2 hours after the agreed return time is considered an additional rental day.
- Carrus d.o.o. Mostar provides the vehicle listed on the second page of the contract
for use under the terms and conditions outlined in the rental agreement.
- By signing this contract, the renter confirms that they have received the vehicle in proper working condition
and with a full tank of fuel, unless otherwise specified in the agreement.
- The renter agrees to pay for the fuel consumed during the rental period.
- The renter agrees to return the vehicle with all tires, tools, documents, standard,
and additional equipment that were provided at the time of pick-up.
- The renter shall return the vehicle on the agreed return date or earlier upon request by Carrus d.o.o. Mostar.
If the renter wishes to extend the rental period, they must request approval from Carrus d.o.o. Mostar
at least 24 hours in advance and pay an additional deposit.
- Only the renter or a person listed as an additional driver in this agreement may operate the vehicle,
provided they meet all legal requirements and possess valid documentation.
a. The vehicle may not be used:
– for paid transport of goods or passengers
– for towing other vehicles - for sports competitions - under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs
– if overloaded or carrying more passengers than legally allowed for the specific vehicle type
- for transporting animals, flammable or explosive materials, substances with strong or unpleasant odors, or bulky materials that could damage the vehicle - The renter may not transfer their rights under this agreement or sell (transfer) the vehicle or any of its parts.
- If the renter exceeds the agreed return time without prior approval from Carrus d.o.o. Mostar,
the vehicle will be considered stolen, and the matter will be reported to the police. In such a case,
the renter bears full material and moral responsibility.
- The renter agrees to maintain the vehicle in good technical condition during the rental period, regularly check coolant, oil levels, tire pressure, and perform necessary oil changes. Any related expenses may be reimbursed upon prior approval from Carrus d.o.o. Mostar and submission of receipts. The renter is liable for damages resulting from improper maintenance.
- The renter is liable for any damage caused by improper use of the vehicle (e.g. off-road driving), regardless of whether they paid for the damage waiver. This includes towing costs, loss of value, and loss of income during repair. The renter will also cover any costs Carrus d.o.o. Mostar may incur in relation to third parties due to misuse.
- The renter is responsible for any damages caused to the vehicle during the rental period by themselves or third parties, especially if they provided false information when signing the contract.
- The renter agrees to lock the vehicle and keep the keys and documents with them when not using the vehicle. Upon return, the keys and documents must be returned; otherwise, the renter will be charged for their replacement.
- The renter releases Carrus d.o.o. Mostar from any responsibility for theft, damage, or loss of personal belongings left in the vehicle during the rental period or after the vehicle is returned.
- The renter is not responsible for mechanical failures if they took all reasonable measures to prevent them.
- During the rental period, the renter is responsible for costs related to parking, garage fees, traffic violations, and any other incidental expenses.
- Carrus d.o.o. Mostar is not liable for any consequences arising from a vehicle breakdown during the rental period.
- In the event of damage to vehicle seals, odometer failure, or mechanical issues, the renter must immediately stop driving and contact Carrus d.o.o. Mostar for further instructions.
- The renter agrees to settle all costs outlined in this agreement within the legally prescribed time frame.
- The vehicle is insured for both comprehensive (casco) and third-party liability coverage.
- In the event of an accident, the renter must protect the interests of Carrus d.o.o. Mostar by:
– recording the names and addresses of all participants and witnesses
- securing or moving the vehicle to a safe location before leaving it
– informing Carrus d.o.o. Mostar and submitting a written damage report - contacting and waiting for the police to make an official report
– failure to follow these steps will result in the renter bearing all consequences and damages that Carrus d.o.o. Mostar may suffer. - Changes to the terms and conditions of this agreement are only valid in written form and with the consent of both parties.
- In case of a dispute, the competent court is the Municipal Court in Mostar.
